panathrasher Posted October 26, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 26, 2007 My H and I live in SD and have been effected by the fires, in the sense that we had to pack up in case of an evac. That being said, we sail on Monday for an 8 day trip to Mexico. Because we thought we would be evacuated, my husbands suits and my nice dresses have been sitting in suitcases since Tuesday. My questions is, how much does it cost to have your clothes laundered on the ship (even just steam ironed). If the cost is expensive, would it be better to buy a travel steamer and do those work? Thanks!

AdrenalineRush Posted October 26, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 26, 2007 I see the OP started 2 threads with the same title. Maybe she forgot about this one.
panathrasher Posted October 26, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted October 26, 2007 MyImagination, thank you so much, that is exactly what I needed. Chilaxin, I did not forget about the other thread, I got an error message and when I hit the back space button everything I typed was gone so I started a new thread. Geeeshhhh, I am only 25, I won't start losing my memory until I am much older and besides, the threads were five minutes apart, the only was I could have forgot is if I passed out. melodienj Posted October 26, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 26, 2007 There were also two days on our cruise that you paid $15 per bag of clothes to be washed and folded for you. It was a great deal. We did have dry cleaning service on our cruise too.
Glama Posted October 26, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 26, 2007 They also offer an with washers and dryers to do your own laundry. I'm sure you wouldn't want to launder your suits or dress clothes, but it may be nice to freshen up your shorts and tshirts. You can get quarters from the casino, or the pursers desk. We usually bring a small sample box of tide for just this reason. Have a great cruise, sounds like you need it!
panathrasher Posted October 26, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted October 26, 2007 Thanks MelodieNJ and Glama, I may just use the laundry service so it's less clothes for me to wash when we get home, they always say you need a vacation after your vacation! Thanks.
nanashirl Posted October 27, 2007 #8 Share Posted October 27, 2007 I noticied that someone had posted that dry cleaning was available and another than it was not. We will be on the Freedom in Jan. Does anyone know for sure if dry cleaning is available? If not I assume that they at least have pressing for suits, etc.
chandom Posted October 27, 2007 #9 Share Posted October 27, 2007 I noticied that someone had posted that dry cleaning was available and another than it was not. We will be on the Freedom in Jan. Does anyone know for sure if dry cleaning is available? If not I assume that they at least have pressing for suits, etc. I would think so. I recall at one time seeing the price list from somebody's gallery of images from the Liberty. Seeing how the Freedom is newer than the Liberty I would imagine dry cleaning would be offered. Guess I will find out for sure in a few weeks...
