Any celebrity sightings?

Billy Dee Williams was on the June 17, 2007 sailing of the Crown Princess. He was sailing as apparently he is now an artist and they were showing his work. However, he had a mini-suit on the deck just below me (Caribe) and about 4 cabins over . . .

Anyway, my little group "bumped" into him a few times and he was very pleasant!

Taylor Negron (character actor on a ton of TV shows) was on our QM2 cruise and last year Rita Moreno was on our Celebrity Infinity cruise. She gave a talk one afternoon about the history of Hollywood and how she got into show biz (she's the only actress to have won ALL the awards...stage, screen, TV). After her talk she very graciously chatted and took photos with everyone who was interested. A very impressive lady....and she's so tiny!

Earlier this year I saw Richard Simmons here on Main Street. I wasn't on the cruise but apparently Carnival had a "cruise to lose" and he was on it. I didn't even notice him until one of my friends pointed him out. He looked just like he does on his infomercials....including the "booty" shorts. A guy from Bold and the Beautiful was on the Pearl when I was just on it. His name was Jeff Tracta...I think. I've never heard of him by my step-mother has. He was a performer.

Our friends were sailing with Charo on the Freedom I believe, also the act. entered an elevator and my GF could not resist: on a silent ride up she couldn't stand it anymore and begged her to do her famous "coochie coochie coochie" move!

LOL :D

You mean the Hedge Hog?

Just say it... He was a Porno Star. Short and chubby, but had what it took to be a major porn star back in the 70's and 80s. At least that's what I'm told

So I guess I wasn't too far off when I said he was a weightlifter.

I'm great with faces and in many places I've spotted famous people, but not on cruises yet. Its usually restaurants or airports. God only knows how many hour of layovers and delays I've accumulated. The one famous (regional celebrity) person I didn't recognize right way was Leroy Jenkins an evangilist who spent time in prison for fraud. He was beside me on a flight, I didn't know it until we walked out of the jetway and dozens of TV camera lights snapped on, it startled me as it happened as I hit the door and I stopped. There was lots of yelling to get out of the way. Only then did I learn he had just been released from prison and was flying home.

Wrestling fans will recognize the name Lou Albano, I sat next to him on a flight.

This one gave me quite a chuckle. "Leroy Jenkins" also the is a well-known "character" from World of Warcraft and it's a very popular, albeit stupid, video on YouTube. I'm not a gamer, but nobody is safe from the powers of YouTube, lol. Ask any kid who "Leeeeeeeroy Jenkins" is. :)

Gloria Estefan WAS on our cruise in August- Jewel of the Seas to the Baltic. My niece and her friend spoke to her in the disco and had a photo taken with her.

Later in the cruise I was paying in the spa after my treatment and I noticed someone else was paying the same time as me and the girl said thank you Gloria so I turned and there she was .

In every port there was a private coach or mini van with Grupo Estefan on the sign in the windshield. We saw them three times when we were in Helsinki.

I had a boss (lawyer) who cruised, and I doubt that he would be caught dead with the unwashed masses .

Yesterday on this board a refugee from Carnival referred to RCI cruisers (us) as being "boring & snobby" today, according to the above we are "the unwashed masses". How can you be snobby when you are unwashed?

I love the diverse points of view expressed here.

Eric, Jessica, Jen, Nick, Dustin and Zach.

Thanks! I don't think I could spend two days with Jen  ;)

On one cruise a year or so ago, in the stall next to me, someone was tapping his toes. Found out later that he is/was a Senator, or something like that.

Too funny!!! :D

Hello,

Has anyone seen a celebrity on a cruise before? When I went on the Big Red Boat years ago, some people from my soap opera were on it. "Marly/Victoria and Jake" from Another World. I think their real names are, Ellen Wheeler, and Tom Eplin. Anyway, this question is just for fun. Wondering if stars like cruises like we do...

Rebecca

Years ago, I met Dizzy Gillespie on a cruise to Bermuda with Holland America.:D

  • 2 months later...

I know this is an old thread...but I had to respond. We had Ricky Shroeder (Silver Spoons, The Champ, 24 ) on our Princess Cruise out of LA two years ago. He was with his family and they say he goes often. It was fun! Nobody really bothered him.
