Sandyrella Posted November 22, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2007 We were on the Spirit out of NY last March 4th and there were quite a few college kids on board but it wasn't as noticeable as the year before when we sailed Carnival where more than half of all the passengers were college aged. With that said, the Spirit did offer a lot of activities for your age group including a Coyote Ugly contest. Can't tell you much more than that because we didn't partake but they always showed the clips on TV the next day (from the night before) and it was quite entertaining. The week you are sailing generally has more college kids than the week we sailed so I don't think you will have a problem finding a party or two...or three :). Just remember that it is also spring break for a lot of high schools and primary schools so there will be quite a few families on board as well. Have a great trip! tomk3212 Posted November 23, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 23, 2007 my friends and I are booked on the NCL Gem for march 15th which is our spring break, my question- This will be 9th cruise but my first ncl and spring break cruise...Does ncl kniow how to partty for spring break week?,...we are all college students and hope this ship is livlely! We were on the Spirit out of NYC last March (the second or third week) and there were a LOT of Spring Breakers aboard. It made for a very lively voyage and even though we're in our early 50's it was a lot of fun to watch. The only complaints I heard was on the last day two young ladies we were in line with for disembarkation were lamenting the size of their bar bills... They also had a Coyote Ugly contest on our cruise & it was hysterical! They did it for male & female so it was a lot of fun to watch. The casino was packed every night with college kids playing. Also the night club was busy every night till the wee hours of the morning. The Gem is a brand new ship; the casino is MUCH bigger than the Spirit's & they have a new nightclub called "Bliss" on deck 7 aft. It didn't get much use on our recent trip on the Gem but both DW & I remarked after seeing it for the first time that it's PERFECT for spring breakers. So check it out. You should have a great time. One word of caution, however. Apparently the Spirit had had a bunch of spring breakers on a prior cruise who thought it was fun to start heaving deck chairs & such overboard! NCL takes a rather dim view of this & booted the culprits off at the next port of call. So keep this in mind & you should have a great time. Lisa&Neb Posted November 23, 2007 #5 Share Posted November 23, 2007 WE were on the Dream about 5 years ago during spring break. There was a lot of partying going on.... maybe a little to much. I love to have a good time, but people throwing deck chairs overboard at night, setting off fire extingishers, smearing pizza on walls and nicky, nicky nine door/prank calls. We did notify NCL and they said they ahd recieved a lot of complaints and they were going to increase security on March break crusises.... we have been on 2 since (we are both teachers) and no real priblems, more security and still lots of good clean fun!! When is spring break? In the south you have missed most college spring breaks by March 15th.

zqvol Posted November 29, 2007 #10 Share Posted November 29, 2007 how do u get unlimited bar? Book as part of a huge group that requires everyone to purchase the bar option.
USC93 Posted November 29, 2007 #11 Share Posted November 29, 2007 Here is a link to the package. It requires a group of at least 20, all members of the group must puchase and for "unlimited" it is $46 per guest per day. Depending on how much you plan on drinking, it could be a decent deal. Cheers! http://www.ncl.com/csimages/299/431/BeveragePackage.pdf
ecudiesel Posted November 29, 2007 #12 Share Posted November 29, 2007 googled the cruise we wanted and got hooked up with classic world travel out of Georgia. Talked to them and their prices were actually cheaper than the NCL home website because they get a group discount. Since it is through the agency, everyone who books is considered in their "group" so they offer the package for about 200 more. Great deal though since alcohol is a joke on the boat
