CHuntMD Posted November 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2007 It was a packed ship but never felt crowded. Yes you do not need to wait until 7pm to start boarding at San Juan terminal. Yes they do stored your shore bought booze til Friday night but email me if you plan on taking a cruise out of San Juan for a tip ;) Did the snorkeling at Trunk Bay (St. Johns) while at St. Thomas. First time snorkeling and it was perfect. St. Marteen. Did the 20 person sailboat/snorkeling/lunch. Crew was all French and were surprising wonderful. Choppy seas prevents snorkeling. Antigua, 6 of us did our own beach trip. We were disappointed at Run-a-way beach. Non-tour folks get taken to the Lobster Shack which is not a bad facility but the beach is horrible. St. Lucia did the Dolphin/Whale tour. Lots of dolphins but no whales. Got to see the Pitons and Marroggot (sp?) Very beautiful island from the water but did not venture outside the tour except for the beer garden right outside the dick ;) Barbados. 8 of us we on the Taimi 5 star snorkel with turtles tour. 83 foot Cat is a nice boat and the crew was great. Pomperaugrr Posted November 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2007 I would definitely like to get the tip on San Juan, as we are sailing on the Serenade on 01-19-08. I don't see an e-mail address for you though. Eric

CHuntMD Posted November 29, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted November 29, 2007 More tips for San Juan: 1) Taxis are regulated by the PR Tourism Board. Its 50 cents extra per bag so the 6 of us with 12 bags cost 31.50. If you take the RCCL transfer it's $14.95 per person each way 2) We asked the driver to stop at a grocery store on the way. Picked up two cases of water and a 12 of Coke Zero. At the Pan American Pier (RCCL only) if you have extra cruise tags slap them on the water. They arrived with the luggage. 3) Start saving your 1 dollar bills for tips especially for Luggage handlers 4) If you have a late flight be the last ones off the cruise ship. Much easier to find luggage and the lines are very short at immigration and customs
