Host Kewlguy Posted November 29, 2007 Author #51 Share Posted November 29, 2007 I like #1 more than #6! Well, I didn't expect everyone (aka. Carol) to agree with all of them. ;)
Cruise_Couple Posted November 29, 2007 #52 Share Posted November 29, 2007 I also vote for more Radiance class ships!
Merion_Mom Posted November 29, 2007 #53 Share Posted November 29, 2007 Well, I didn't expect everyone (aka. Carol) to agree with all of them. ;) Ok, let me qualify my endorsement of #1 over #6. On my 46 day cruise, with lots of sea days, I will wish that there were self-service laundry rooms. On a 9 or 12 day, I'd take the stuff-a-bag option. :D
rclcruzer Posted November 29, 2007 #54 Share Posted November 29, 2007 Food improvement... no late comers to the Dining Room, I hate to see our waiters "sweat" to catch up with them.. and last but not least...for the love of God RCCL change your minds and leave the Monarch where she is!!!!!;)
2112 Posted November 29, 2007 #55 Share Posted November 29, 2007 Add self service laundry facilities. Some of us don't mind throwing in a load of laundry during a long cruise. It saves us money and helps us pack a lot lighter. Other cruise lines give their passengers this option. Why not Royal and Celebrity? YES!!!!!! 2112 Posted November 29, 2007 #57 Share Posted November 29, 2007 How about some new itineraries and different ports. How about adding St. Vincent or Trinidad just to name 2 ports they could add. How about moving a ship to San Francisco?
BirmanCrazy Posted November 29, 2007 #58 Share Posted November 29, 2007 ~Open Seating option ~a balcony table that is "normal" in size and easy to enjoy a dinner/lunch on. ~I love "movies under the stars" like Princess ~LOBSTER! ---throw in some crab too! ~MORE Radiance Class ships! Bigger not always better! ~ a 4/5 day ship out of Galveston and a year-round Voyager of the Seas too! ~open jaw 7 day Canadian/New England iteniraries Thank you RCL for 10 Wonderful cruises! You're my favorite cruiseline!
watsor1 Posted November 29, 2007 #59 Share Posted November 29, 2007 I wish they would let us throw stuff in the ocean, like cigarette butts and beer cans, soiled diapers and grumpy spouses who complain when you stay out all night in a bar. A spousal counseling service for when you DO stay out all night at a bar. Reasonable beer prices (appx $68.00 a case is rather high) Slot machines that pay every third pull. More elevators, the bigger ships are a pain in the butt to move around in (I really HATE walking up 9 decks). Two lines for embarkation..one with picture taking and one without. I hate the rude stares I get when I buck the picture taking line just to get on the boat and get to a pool bar to start drinking my $68.00 a case beer. People must think the ABSOLUTE worst of me. There are more.......later, maybe
bluecruisin Posted November 29, 2007 #60 Share Posted November 29, 2007 I'd like to see a better, consistent quality of food in the dining room. Also would like them to allow 1 bottle of wine per person to be brought on to the ship.
sea-cruise Posted November 29, 2007 #61 Share Posted November 29, 2007 I'm not a cheerleader, although I like RCCL. I would appreciate being allowed to bring the wine onboard that I prefer.
Sharkmedic Posted November 29, 2007 #62 Share Posted November 29, 2007 Allow cruisers to either bring or purchase a lousy bottle of rum (or whatever) for my stateroom. I don't think the cruise line will go under for that. After all, we're on the high seas. A bottle of grog is appropriate! :D
DC2OC Posted November 29, 2007 #63 Share Posted November 29, 2007 Bring back the menus and food quality of 15-20 years ago. Build the 2 Radiance class ships that were cancelled. Even though RCI has the best loyalty program, there are things they could do better. Free internet for Diamond Plus would be nice. Agree.I would pay a higher fare for better dining expierience.I enjoy the large tables in the dining room.I shouldn't have to abandon my table for a high quality meal.Leave the specialty resturants for the special intimate nights.I had a very nice time on my last cruise, but one night they had fried chicken in the main dining room.Com'n thats fast food. Its no wonder folks are dressing down in the main dining room.Who wants to get dressed up for fried chicken? quiltsnh Posted November 29, 2007 #66 Share Posted November 29, 2007 I would like to see the following: 1. Better enforcement of the no diapers in the pool rule.... 2. Menu changes on a regular basis. If you cruise more than once a year menus are the same. 3. More snack type stuff in the Windjammer in the afternoon.... cheese crackers, dips, nachos that type of stuff. 4. No charge for the coffee in Latitudes. 5. More Radiance, Voyager and Freedom class... no mass crowd Genisis class.
cruise_lover Posted November 29, 2007 #67 Share Posted November 29, 2007 Use the Port of New Orleans even if it is just for several months a year. I don't care if the ship is the oldest one in the fleet. If it stays afloat I'll be on it.
Shanafan Posted November 29, 2007 #68 Share Posted November 29, 2007 Actually,on the JW ,it was in one of the hard cover books on the table.....we asked the steward where the blue directory book was with all that info....he then showed us it was all in that book........ We looked as this was our third time on this ship we knew there had always been one previously. I asked our room steward about it and she said they no longer use them. We did not have one in our room.

katiel53 Posted November 29, 2007 #72 Share Posted November 29, 2007 I'd like to have the Seaview cafes be open 24 hours like the ones on the Promenade on the Voyager class ships. I'd like to have the bag of laundry for x many dollars. I agree that children should not become Crown & Anchor Platinum/Diamond just because their parents are. They need to earn the privileges just as all the rest of us do. I'd like to be able to bring some wine or a bottle of liquor per adult for a 7 day cruise. If the cruise is less than 5 days, perhaps a bottle of liquor per two people in a cabin. I'd like to see no smoking on the balconies and have a couple or three nights of no smoking in the casino. I'd like to see new menus as we travel RCI about 3 times a year and the menus are the same. Of course, I don't want my favorite things like the vidalia onion tart to be removed. RCI knows which items are favored and which aren't and they can make adjustments accordingly when setting up new menus. I'd like to see no exceptions to the under 13 rule in the specialty restaurants as well as enforcement of the rules regarding the solarium and babies in diapers in the pools. I would like to have RCI decide if there is going to be a dress code or not. If the one that is printed on their literature is to be followed, not just suggested, then enforce it. If there isn't going to be any enforcement, then remove the info regarding the "suggested" dress code and keep to the no shorts, tee shirt and ball caps and adhere to it. Close the dining room door 15 minutes after the start of dinner. Have someone stand at the door to enforce the policy. Enforce the chair hog policy. I guess that my feeling is that the policies aren't followed and the people who do try to enforce them are not backed up by RCI. I have talked to a few head waiters and asked them why rules aren't followed and the same response was spoken by all of them. No one backs them when the passengers complain. I'm sure there are others, but these seem to be my pet peeves.

Fitnessmaniac Posted November 29, 2007 #74 Share Posted November 29, 2007 One improvement I would suggest is...only staff handle the food in Windjammer! I hate buffets because I don't like lots of people handling the food with ungloved hands. I think the staff should dish the food and wear gloves and hair nets. WE hardly ever eat at Windjammer because of this. That's probably my only suggestion..other than that..I love RCCL.
