Sue L Posted January 3, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2008 try calling the C & A line if you are a member they usually answer a lot faster.
fourowdys Posted January 3, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2008 I held for 45 minutes this morning. They were closed yesterday....thus the backlog. I was told that C & A can no longer book cruises -- everything has to go through main reservations.

I had the same issue today and my bet is that between it being January 2nd and the start of the big booking season(The Wave) the lines were just overloaded. Couple that with a mid west blizzard and school still being out and I think that there were a lot of people booking today. New C&A coupons hit the system today and a lot of people may have been calling for that as well. Even the C&A number was a long wait.
mlanz Posted January 3, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted January 3, 2008 Got through after 40 minutes...per speaking with agent that has been typical wait....just know there is a light at the end of the tunnel
traveler/ Posted January 3, 2008 #8 Share Posted January 3, 2008 I was told to call the main line for a nextcruise booking. This was a few weeks ago.
dmbfan41 Posted January 3, 2008 #9 Share Posted January 3, 2008 I was told the average wait time was 45 minutes. I know that song for 45 minutes on hold can really grate on your nerves....after that, they should comp you a free drink coupon!
CruiseKeeper Posted January 3, 2008 #10 Share Posted January 3, 2008 I waited about 30 minutes yesterday morning to upgrade previously booked cruise as well. Also, I've noticed that you no longer have to call C&A after the reservation to have the balcony discount applied. They do it at the time of reservation instead. TEXASMUNK Posted January 3, 2008 #11 Share Posted January 3, 2008 RCI is having major phone line issues. Limited lines, thus long waits. But theya re working to get it resolved.

On hold now and approaching 20 minutes....I used to like the RCI theme song but its starting to rub me the wrong way wiht frustration......what"s up Gotta be patient. They are short staffed because of the holidays, the new Promo Wave came out today and the new C & A coupons. My RCI rep just send me an e-mail a few minutes ago if my booking is an emergency or if I can wait since he is extremely busy. So I told him to put a hold on my reservation and call me back at his convinience. The return mail: OK. Got it. Talk with you later. :D

I like knowing that I can pick-up the phone and call my travel agent and get personal service. If you call RCCL 3 times' date=' more than likely you will get 3 different people.
