Panama Canal Clothing

Hello Everyone!

My hus band and I are sailing on Feb.6,2008, to Panama Canal

from Ft.Lauderdale. I know it is supposed to be warm and humid.

Has anyone recently sailed there? Will we need a light jacket for the

higher altitude excursions while in Columbia or whatever?

We live in Arizona, where it is cold now. I don't want to overpack.

(as we usually do!) What will we need to wear besides shorts, t-shirts,

and capri pants? I know we need dress outfits for casual dining and the

fancier stuff for formal evenings. Last Feb. in Hawaii we did have some cooler

days on ships and in ports.

Thanks so much for your time in answering this!

Joanne

Just got back last night from a Panama cruise and it was HOT and very humid. You won't need a jacket for anything. In Cartegena, it was nearly 90 with humidity in the high 80's. Same for Panama, very hot with temps in the high 80's and very humid. The only place you might want a light sweater is for the show rooms on the ship.

If its cloudy on deck, and a crew member tells you to 'Get under cover' then GET UNDER COVER, this way you will remain dry!:D On the credit side, a thunder storm in Panama is almost worth the price of the cruise.:)
