waite02 Posted May 20, 2008 #931 Share Posted May 20, 2008 Surely, even if no one has ordered it, someone can comment on the room service MENU. Just curious what's on it, if you can get a full breakfast or just continental. Etc. Thanks!!!!
Cazz Posted May 20, 2008 #932 Share Posted May 20, 2008 We ordered room service breakfast the first morning for an 8.15-8.30 slot. Got a call at 7.15 to say it was on the way! to sleepy to have our wits enough to say we werent ready. They didnt take much notice of the quantities ordered either. There is a little box by each item on the list that you hang on the door - continental and full breakfast items available as I remember - and you write in how many of each you want, eg we ordered 3 coffees, 3 toast, 2 semi milk, 1 lowfat milk etc. We only got 2 coffees (small stainless steel thermos type jugs) and 2 cups, the 3 cartons of milk arrived, they are 1/3 pint sized, so plenty of milk. There were all day items too, such as pizza and burgers as I recall but we didnt order anything else. Hope that helps, have a wonderful time. Gixer Posted May 21, 2008 #933 Share Posted May 21, 2008 I have a favour to ask.....:o If anyone is sailing on the Indy soon, would you be kind enough to save all the daily compasses and scan them and email them to me when you return from your cruise? Or even better - if there is anyone who doesnt want to keep the compasses as keepsakes and would be willing to post (snail mail) them that would be fantastic :D

I would also be interested if anyone could post on here the Mediterranean Treasures cruise dining room menu. Many thanks:p:p

Bild Em Bigger Posted May 22, 2008 #937 Share Posted May 22, 2008 The menus on Indy are different to others that I have had on other ships in the fleet, they are presented in the same hard backed folder each night and they just change the inserts. I have always had a different designed cardboard menu each night on all my other Royal Caribbean cruises.

Sorry - couldn't get any menus - wish I had thought to bring a room service menu, from memory it was the usual breakfast fare plus sandwiches, burgers, pizza and fruit & cookies Faye

SF Posted May 23, 2008 #940 Share Posted May 23, 2008 Just found out that the Independence cruise we had booked is going to be an "immersion" cruise. :( Don't mind that but do mind that they are now going to be using Euros on board as the currency for those sailings. Not interested in having to pay in Euros when our dollar is so weak so we are switching to a Princess ship with the same itinerary. Don't want to have to pay for ship tours, casino, gratuities, etc... on board in Euros. Guess I'll have to wait until it I can sail her in the Caribbean instead of Europe as those cruises probably won't be "immersion" ones.

Gixer Posted May 23, 2008 #945 Share Posted May 23, 2008 Is it absolute fact that everything on board is going to charged in Euro's? That not British immersion - if it was British immersion everything would be charged in £££ I wish RCCL would just come out with an official statment of what changes we are going to have to face on board, at least then people can make an informed descision. So true. They never let you know and even when they do I still question what they say. As far as I know one representative told me Euros another the next day said US currency. I also wondered why Euros and not British Pounds and even asked her at the time. She only said they decided on Euros. Personally, I don't think the right hand knows what the left is doing. Wish they'd get their act together and let the people who keep them in business know so like you said we can make a decision.
Smithford Posted May 24, 2008 #947 Share Posted May 24, 2008 All of our documentation for our cruise next week states that onboard currency will be US dollars. When we cruised on Legend a few years ago that was charged in British Pounds.
Elizanessie Posted May 27, 2008 Author #948 Share Posted May 27, 2008 Here is a link to thread where I put short video taken on the Indy at her naming ceremony. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=14795737#post14795737 It is my first time doing a wee video but thought it might interest someone here. I do have longer ones from the ceremony but gotta upload them yet :o
Cruise from Calgary Posted May 27, 2008 #949 Share Posted May 27, 2008 ;) Nice video Lizz...thanks for sharing! Still seems odd though that the ceremony was held indoors - even with bad weather. Hope that you'll get a chance to post some more...?
4cogscruzin Posted May 29, 2008 #950 Share Posted May 29, 2008 We are going on our first RCCL cruise this 11/29. Have sailed Disney Magic twice. Our boys are 13 & 16 and thought the Idependence had more to offer. Can wait to read all the previous threads. Are there any places to grab a snack by the pools:D
