Maddie444 Posted September 18, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2004 Our ship is due back to port at 8:00 am. What would be a safe time to book the flight home? How far is it from Port of Miami to Miami Airport? I'm looking at 1:15 PM flight home. Would that be a safe time? Thanks Maddie
hdawson Posted September 18, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2004 That flight should be perfect.

miclane001 Posted September 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2004 I'd go with the 1:15 flight just in case there was a delay of some sort.
Maddie444 Posted September 18, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted September 18, 2004 Thanks for the info.:) There will be 10 of us (3 children) too much luggage to carry off the ship! Will there be shuttles waiting outside to go to the airport? Or is this something we should book ahead of time? Maddie
cruztime Posted September 18, 2004 #6 Share Posted September 18, 2004 Hi, You're 1:15 should be good. It's only about a 15-20 minute cab ride to the airport. I'm not sure about shuttles because we took a cab. In January 04 it was a flat rate of $20 to the airport. You could always use multiple cabs. There are tons of them at the port. When you debark and enter the area where the luggage is, grab a porter, give him a buck or so per bag and he'll take you right to the cab and get you on your way. BrendaB1 Posted September 18, 2004 #7 Share Posted September 18, 2004 How far from port to airport in Tampa? Has anyone been able to make 10:45AM flight after cruise?
staylor Posted September 18, 2004 #8 Share Posted September 18, 2004 We missed a 10:45 once in Miami. We never booked earlier than noon now. We were sitting on a shuttle bus, the driver closed the door and walked away....we were freaking out....then when we got to him he had to unload all the bags to get to out luggage. Check in was a half hour before the flight. We just sat there and watched out plane take off. We tried to make the best of it. Went to Bayside....I can't remember how much it was, but it was expensive for the airport to hold our luggage......We learned our lesson.

Coast is $16.00 eachfor adults. Call Carnival see if they offer same to Miami,
serene56 Posted September 18, 2004 #10 Share Posted September 18, 2004 Maddie: Save your money using the cruise lines shuttle. The airport is about 15-20 minutes fromthe pier. Get two cabs at a costs of 20 each. Since there is so many of you I doubt that all of you plus your luggage could fit into the vans. Tampa: with a 10:45 flight---arghhh. Whats your other choices? a 10:45 flight you will need to be at the airport by 8:45. How many ships are coming in the same day? Lots of rushing for you on the last day of a great relaxing vacation- Sounds stressful. (suppose if the ship dont clear on time. Some people think they wont have to clear their sign and sail accounts. what they fail to understand is when they dont pay up-it holds up the rest of the people)
