We're off tomorrow on the new GEM. On recent NCL cruises most people

didn't go "formal."

On most 7 day cruises there is on "Dress up or Not night" and on 9 days there are usually two "Dress up or not nights." (aka "Optional Formal.")

 

You will find only about 50% will dress up and that will range from shirt/tie to tuxes. The other half will be in resort casual.
