whynotnow Posted February 14, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2008 We plan on using our credit card where ever possible on our trip to New Zealand and Australia but realize we'll need some local currency. Does anyone know what the ATM charge is in those countries? Also, are there ATMs at the New Zealand airport? Thanks!

mochuck Posted February 15, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2008 There is a an ATM at the airport, but most taxis will also take credit cards anyway. Are you on the same flight as Sheila? Regarding ATM fees - it depends on your bank. It will probably be about $2 per transaction plus currency exchange fee. It is still the cheapest and easist way to access local currency
cands Posted February 15, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 15, 2008 Also, are there ATMs at the New Zealand airport? Thanks! There is an ATM in the arrivals hall at Auckland Airport. Very handy! Regards, Steve.

(I had to look, the last time I arrived - I had managed to turn up there with only about $5 in cash on me!) So, no trouble.
Aussie Cruisers Posted February 16, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2008 ATMs are everywhere.... also remember that if you are at a supermarket you can get cash out too. Even TARGET allows you to get cash out, without having to buy anything. We are not a third world country. :D ATMS are everywhere you look in Sydney! Enjoy!:p
