terrib1964 Posted March 18, 2008 #26 Share Posted March 18, 2008 Ok so a question now. I sent my letter of praise out to Carnival about 3 weeks ago...how long after you sent your letters to them did it take to get one back from them? Hi Tali! I got mine in about 4 weeks! pigfishinn Posted March 18, 2008 #27 Share Posted March 18, 2008 My 45 day letter was a $100 OBC - YEAH!!! It did have an 18 month expiration on it. Possibly because it was OBC compared to a bon voyage dept gift? I wrote snail mail and got the 45 day letter about 3 1/2 - 4 weeks later. :)

halos Posted March 18, 2008 #30 Share Posted March 18, 2008 That's a lovely gesture! Some of the other cruise lines should take note on small courtesies to their past passengers I've gotten this 45 day letter several times from CCL and after my NCL cruise, I wrote them and they also sent me a similar letter....which was a total surprise because I didn't know NCL did that. halos Posted March 19, 2008 #33 Share Posted March 19, 2008 Can I send this 45 day letter via email? :) You don't send the 45 day letter, you send a letter with comments to CCL and THEY (may or may not) send YOU a letter that thanks you for taking the time to comment. The letter asks you to call 45 days prior to your next sail date, (hence the name) and when you do call 45 days prior to your sail date, they will offer you a small token of thanks. This will be your choice of a few options which may include 4 coupons for soda, 4 coupons for bar drinks, a bottle of wine, chocolates, a free cruise photo...or possibly a few other options. ;)

CruisinMermaid Posted March 19, 2008 #38 Share Posted March 19, 2008 Well that's awesome! I think that after this cruise I will try and find something I can write about! I am bad at this stuff I have to be honest I forget to send my own credit card and car payments in but I will try and remember to do this! So you just send it in the mail to guest relations and they send you back a 45 day letter? I like the idea! my only problem is remembering to watch out for the 45 days before I cruise...does it have to be the exact 45th day? Can it be 38 days? We received our 45 day letter about 35 days before we cruised. I called the Bon Voyage Department right after receiving the letter. I think as long as you call with 45 days or less till sailing you'll be okay.
People_Mover Posted March 19, 2008 #39 Share Posted March 19, 2008 I blasted Carnival after my nightmare cruise back in the day. I even saved the e-mail they wrote back to me: Mr. xxxxxxxxxx RE: INSPIRATION, 05/05/05, xxxxxxxxxx Dear Mr. xxxxxxxx: We realize that in this competitive world you have several cruise lines to choose from. We are glad you chose to spend your vacation with us. We extend our sincere apologies for any discomfort you may have experienced due to the plumbing issues encountered in your cabin. We realize one of the most important aspects of our guests' cruise vacation is the time spent relaxing, therefore, we are sorry to note your disappointment in this regard. We are also sorry to learn of your overall disappointment with the Beach Buggy and Snorkel Adventure. Carnival must rely on the information provided by the tour operators as these tours are independently operated. I apologize that the excursion did not meet with your expectations. Copies of all of your comments have been shared with the respective department administrators for their information and necessary corrective action. You can be assured that changes will be made to ensure that our guests are receiving the quality product and service they expect and deserve. To enhance your next cruise experience with us, we would like to extend to you a special gift. Please call our Guest Relations Department 45 days prior to your next cruise to make the necessary arrangements. Our toll-free number is 1-800-929-6400. Any of our Special Advisors will be happy to assist you. Be assured that your comments have been passed on to those in a position to make a difference. We thank you for bringing them to our attention. Sincerely, Debra St. Amand Special Advisor, Office of the President

steel123 Posted May 8, 2008 #42 Share Posted May 8, 2008 Does anyone know if you can receive the 45 day letter with a phone call to guest relations? I called Guest Relations to give some positive feedback and a minor complaint upon returning from the Triumph, but now I'm wondering if I should write them a letter, too!:)
