Beth & Rob Posted February 19, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2008 We are going to St. Thomas, St. Petersburg, St. Maarten, Tortola and the Bahamas. I've read about digital cameras and jewelry and watches, but my son-in-law asked us to check out laptop prices. We leave this Wed and I still haven't packed as I've had this flu for the last 5 days and no energy to do a thing......just feeling better today. Does anyone have any recommendations or is this one type of electronic better bought home? Thanks

Buy it at home. If you buy it the ONLY place to even consider is St. Thomas because of software license issues.
Toto2Kansas Posted February 23, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2008 I definitely agree. Do Not look to purchase something like this in the Caribbean, but buy from a reputable dealer at home.
goneclear Posted March 4, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2008 Most Caribbean Islands have dealers who are liscenced and act as agents for most computer manufacturers. So there is no problem buying a laptop in the caribbean once you do your homework and buy from a reputable dealer. Having said that there is probably no advantage of buying a computer in the caribbean.
