BDSou812 Posted February 27, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2008 The search engine could be what brought the site down in the first place:confused:
agabbymama Posted February 27, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 27, 2008 Searh has been "temporarily down" for me for 3 days. I sent an email and got the automatic reply, but so far nobody has responded to my question.
Sundagger Posted February 28, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2008 At the top of the Ask a Cruise Question Board is an Announcement: Board Technical Issues Update 2/27. It gives a little info - I'd copy/paste it, but it may change tomorrow.

Vampire Parrot Posted February 29, 2008 #8 Share Posted February 29, 2008 *geek mode on* As a vBulletin admin (not this site!) I'll just point out that disabling search is one of the first things that is done when the servers get overloaded. The second thing is then to order newer, more powerful servers... ;) Joking aside, many bbs-based commercial websites run on "virtual" servers, in which a group of one or more physical servers (typically blade systems - google for hp blade) are logically split up into multiple virtual servers. In this case, increasing the "CPU entitlement", "Memory Entitlement" and "I/O Entitlement" has the same effect. *geek mode off* Search is not working for me either... agabbymama Posted February 29, 2008 #9 Share Posted February 29, 2008 I received a response from the help desk, and she states the search has been disabled and there are no plans to re-establish it. She recommends the forum search.
Cruising-along Posted March 1, 2008 #10 Share Posted March 1, 2008 ....She recommends the forum search. That worked for a few days, but now it hasn't been working for me either.
