If you go to roatanet.com you can get some great advice.....search the archives or post your own question - there's a lot of very helpful people there.

You get there from La Ceiba by ferry or by air. Utila is a barefoot island and is considered the cheapest place in the world to get padi certified.
Any search on yahoo for utila honduras will return excellent results, including links to the dive lodges etc. on the island.
