southwardbound Posted March 7, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2008 We will be on the Coral in May. I was just wondering if a small 4-cup coffee maker is allowed in the room for morning coffee? Thanks:)
runner15km Posted March 7, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2008 No need to carry extra cargo. Fill out your cabin room service menu and your coffee with be delivered at the time you request.

Toto2Kansas Posted March 7, 2008 #5 Share Posted March 7, 2008 Sorry, coffee makers are not allowed. Coffee is available 24 hours a day at Horizon Court & also by room service. Well, if there not allowed, they should have thrown me overboard years ago. :) We always, and I mean ALWAYS take along our little coffeemaker and our own blend of coffee. Never had a problem one having it set up in our cabin.
WISH84 Posted March 7, 2008 #6 Share Posted March 7, 2008 You will get several responses on this. Paul is right, coffee makers are not allowed. However it's also not allowed to bring your own alcohol on board yet people do it all the time. As someone who works in the food & beverage industry, I promise you the coffee they will deliver to your room via room service is not as bad as some people will tell you it is. Is it gourmet? Not by a long shot. But it's better than I've had in some restaurants.
dennbr9 Posted March 8, 2008 #7 Share Posted March 8, 2008 go ahead and take it, auto shut off would be strongly advised. You are liable if you start a fire, and fire on a ship is not good. We take a small iron, also not allowed, but has auto shut off and we are very, very careful.

WISH 84--please advise which restaurants in Denver have worse coffee than Princess, so I can avoid them on my next trip there. :D Les
readytogo2 Posted March 8, 2008 #9 Share Posted March 8, 2008 It's so nice that everyone is so civil this year on the topic of coffee on these threads:) It used to get so out of hand
Scooter-n-GB Posted March 8, 2008 #10 Share Posted March 8, 2008 We bring a French press, and run up to Horizon court to get hot (hot enough for a decent extraction) water. May seem like a hassle, as opposed to having room service deliver water, but it is never hot enough when they deliver it, plus it gets me out and up some stairs for a quick bit of morning exercise. :p The regular Princess coffee is, well, not so good... :o IMO. sultan_sfo Posted March 8, 2008 #11 Share Posted March 8, 2008 But why "small" if you are so very careful. Take a large one next time! (Bold face in reply added.) go ahead and take it, auto shut off would be strongly advised. You are liable if you start a fire, and fire on a ship is not good. SoCalGal Posted March 8, 2008 #12 Share Posted March 8, 2008 I always bring my curling iron and hair dryer so I can't see how taking along my own coffee pot would be more hazardous than those items. And since we'll be on a 16 night cruise to Europe in June you can bet I'll bring my small coffeepot and coffee to make my own brew!
sunhoney64 Posted March 8, 2008 #13 Share Posted March 8, 2008 Take it and enjoy. When you are finished with your coffee, just unplug it and put it in the closet. No one knows its there and then you know you have no worries.
Tatianablue Posted March 8, 2008 #14 Share Posted March 8, 2008 Every night, I request a pot of coffee early the next morning, they will deliver at your requested time. When I leave home, the last thing I want to do is clean up a coffee pot in the bathroom.
livin4cruizin Posted March 8, 2008 #15 Share Posted March 8, 2008 We are recently off the Emerald and I did pack my four cup pot. No problem at all and we had the coffee we wanted each morning! Enjoy your cruise.
