Taku Lodge or Pilots Choice and why?

Which would you book the Taku Lodge feast and flight or the Pilots choice and why? Landing on the glacier would be nice but I also heard that the feast and trip to the lodge is too.

I haven't been on the Pilot's choice tour (plan to do something like it this year!), but the Taku Lodge tour is marvelous! The flight out is beautiful and the lodge setting is amazing. The food is great and you've got extra time there to go on the small hike out to the waterfall (on your own or as part of a guided tour).

I have done both, and for the flightseeing, a glacier helicopter landing always gets my vote. :) Food isn't a priority for me, and there are some excellent resturants that I prefer, so if it's the food option of most interest for you, then pick Taku Lodge.

since it my first trip to Alaska I did mendalhal etc but my next cruise will be the lodge. I love flying and seeing the glacier but i really want to enjoy the feast.

I thought Thane Ore House salmon had a slight edge to what I got at Taku Lodge. So, it's available elsewhere too. :)

On our first Alaska cruise, we went to a Salmon Bake - not sure if they do it anymore, but the food there was even better than Taku Lodge. That was some time ago though...
