Perky1 Posted March 9, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2008 If we dock at Crown Bay would it be best to take the ferry by Crown Bay to St. John or to go to Red Hook and take that one?
The Islander Posted March 10, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2008 The ferries to St. John leave from Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook. Charlotte Amalie is closer to Crown Bay. They each have their own schedule so check both of them and see which works better for your plans. --Islander
Perky1 Posted March 11, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted March 11, 2008 Islander... I have printed off both schedules for the ferries, but was wondering if trying to get the one in Charlotte Ameile was a good idea or not. Should we just get a cab and go all the way to Red Hook. We are hoping we can catch that 9 am ferry but sometimes people say that Princess books it all for their excursion. thanks
Keksie Posted March 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2008 Personally I would take the Red Hook Ferry to St. John. When we have been there the CA Ferry has been sporadic and if you go there and it is a long wait or they are not running you have to then go to Red Hook anyway. Coming back they both leave from the same place so you can then figure out which leaves when and take the CA Ferry if it is running and leaving soon. Perky1 Posted March 11, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted March 11, 2008 Thanks Keksie. That is what I wanted to know. I will just plan on Red Hook to get over and play it by ear to come back.
