If you had to choose . . . . .

I am trying to decide which hotel would be the best for a one night pre-cruise stay. I have narrowed it down to 3 choices:

1. The Embassy Suites

2. Renaissance Fort Lauderdale

3. The new Hard Rock Hotel

Any suggestions on which one you would choose?

Thanks!

Hi:) The Renaissiance and Embassy Suites are much closer to the Port...if that is important to you. (They are both within a 5 minute cab ride).

From what I have read, Hard Rock is nice but much further away.

IF location is important to you, I would pick one of the first 2...and they are both near lots of restaurants on 17th Street as well.

It depends on what you are looking for. The Hard Rock is away from things but it looks like a great porperty and it would be fun to have the casinos to be entertained - the pool area is suppose to be very nice (I grew up only a couple of miles east of where the hotel is - hard to imagine there's a Hard RoOck there). If you want to be close to the pier I would pick the Renassiance - we stayed there last year and we liked it. It's nice and the rooms were nice. It's close to lots of things you can walk to including Bimini Boatyard for dinner. I would stay there again.

When are you sailing again???

Embassy Suites. Its the same distance between Rennasiance and Embassy to the pier (and who cares, both give complentary rides to the pier). Besides the happy hour and breakfast there is also a liquor/wine store directly across the street from Embassy for those that might want to stock up. In reality, both hotels are probably only 3/4 mile from each other. So the restaurants mentioned are within walking distance.

One thing we learned with Embassy, once you get your reservation call the local hotel number about getting a nice room that looks out at the port. Just don't look down, kind of a crumy oil storage/industrial area between the hotel and the port.
