Can anyone confirm....please?

I've been told by my PVP that as long as one person booked in a cabin is a past guest then anyone else booked in that same cabin would receive past guest benefits. Like the past cruisers party. Is this true? Can anyone help me find out for sure. Unfortunately, on my last cruise the PVP said one thing (regarding camp carnival) and onboard they said soemthing very different. I don't want that to happen again.

Thanks in advance.

Happy cruisin!!!!!;)

I think if it's your spouse/cabinmate you get to go to the past guest party, but the only person who gets the "perks" is the past guest. I know that platinum members can take one or two people with them for priority debarkation, but you don't get the rest of the perks. Not sure if I helped!

You have to be invited to the past guest party, and I don't believe the invitation includes a "+ guest" clause. Otherwise, almost everyone on the ship would be attending.

Not true! Been told numerous times that the invitation to the past guest party includes all occupants of one's cabin!

My first cruise was actually my mom's second. She and some others in my group received invitations to the past guest party but I did not. So I can't recall what I did get but I do know what I didn't get.... invited to that party but that's okay because I was there the next time:D .

As long as ONE person in a cabin qualifies for a discount rate, Carnival gives the benefit of rate to EVERYONE in THAT CABIN. I get a military rate and anyone in my cabin gets it, too, when we travel. You can't extend your special rate OUTSIDE the cabin YOU are booked in, unless they are running some other special (like they do for Military and their Friends and Family rates twice a year).

And as past guests, you get to take a guest with you to the Gala/Welcome Aboard/free drinks party on 4 day or longer cruise. At least that's what the tickets in our cabin said on our cruise on the Legend last September... ?

The one thing we were thinking of.

We traveling with family this summer. Well BIL and SIL will travel with DD who

all 3 have never sailed. If we have the TA move my DD (who is a past cruiser)

with his DD. He will get past sailing pricing. But the questions to ask.

1. Will they give us both troubles with 2 different last names.

2. The BIL will be requesting a crib, will this be an issue with the switch?

As long as one person in the room qualifies, everyone gets it. Carnival doesn't police their rooms, making us stay in the cabins like we book, so you could put your daughter in their cabin and give that cabin a discount from her, then when on board swap cabins. You still have to conform to their age restrictions (shouldn't be hard with 4+ adults travelling?), but each past guest would let you get the rate on an equal number of rooms with them "holding" the room in their name.

The only ones that get the invitation to the party are those that are past guest, this is noted in the booking.

Fred

Not (entirely?) true. On our cruise in September, my wife and I received invitations for each of us and a guest ("+1"). We took our friends who had never cruised before, that was their first cruise. And our kid got one, too (4 y.o.)! LOL!

Fred,

I tend to agree with you but this has been around and around and everyone seems to have different responses...

In all the times we have cruised, only the past guests in our party have been invited to the Past Guest Party, no guest..... Now, two years ago, and this upcoming one, we did and are bringing newbies with us... (only 2 out of 13). They let us in with no problem. BUT.... no where on any of the invitations did any one of those individual invitations say AND GUEST.... Oh, and the real reason we're bringing a newbie this year is because she is 14 years old, travelling with our daughter (who is Platinum) and I will not leave a 14 year old alone on a ship for any amount of time at all.... and my 14 year old loves the Past Guest Party and wants to go.....

But, after reading all the comments, and previous threads on this same discussion, I believe its up to who happens to be standing at the door at the time!!!

The past guest reception party is *only* for past guests. you cant bring anyone along, even if in your cabin unless they too are past guests. they know if you are or not so you cant sneak in!

the only real benifit someome else can get from past guest is if they hooked up a promo. YEAH PROMOS!!!

Hmmm... then I guess we were just lucky on the Legend, because our friends were right there with us at the Welcome party, sharing free drinks and hobnobbing with the executive staff and CD...

the past guest reception party is for past guest passengers only. cannot bring a guest who is not a past guest, and they would get the invite too.

only real benifit a first timer gets is if their cabinmate is past guest and they get hooked up on a promo for it. YEAH PROMOS!!!

be careful what you hear from carnival, there are two different types of people who may book you...Personal Vacation Planners (PVP) and Cruise Vacation Specialists (CVS). if you call 888 carnival you will get cvs people. PVP people have been notorious for telling people the wrong info to get what they want...your money!

You may have been told that but the invitation comes to the individual past guest and doesn't say anything about bringing all your cabinmates.

The past guest reception is for past guests.

Bringing someone along that is not a past guest leaves your Host in a precarious position... risk someone making a scene when they are told they will not be admitted, or just quietly let them in.

The mature behavior would be to not bring along someone to the past guest party who is not a past guest.
