Ratatouille Posted April 13, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2008 Hampton Inn is much cheaper. Has anyone (with kids) stayed at either of these hotels? We are a bit limited as there are five of us and most hotels must comply with max 4 occupancy rules. Thanks for your help :)
megr1125 Posted April 14, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2008 IIRC they are pretty much next to each other....didn't stay in either but checked them out...i got a better deal at the doubletree! (which was a bit of a mess!) i usually stay in marriott-branded hotels, but in this case, where the hampton is cheaper and they have free breakfast (if you can take advantage of it!) that is what i wold select. BTW there isn't anything in the immediate area to eat! (at least there wasn't when i was there!) good luck
Ratatouille Posted April 15, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted April 15, 2008 Thank you :) I have read bad things about the Doubletree on other sites, which is why I wasn't considering that one. I booked a room at Hampton Inn, about $100 cheaper than Marriott. The rate was slightly cheaper online but I was nervous about booking online b/c we need a rollaway bed. The reservations agent on the phone was very nice and advised me to book online then call her with the confirmation number so she could make sure the rollaway request was noted. I asked if there were any restaurants nearby where we could take the kids even though it would be late and she said there are one or two restaurants connected to the hotel. We probably won't want to eat, since we arrive late and leave early the next morning, but it would be good to have the option!
