Can you take left over food from dinner?

I was on RCCL - aren't they all pretty much same? think there were hot items too - and during lunch and dinner hours, you could order off the dining room menu for room service. The breakfast is sparse (think wake up THEN go to breakfast) - but one morning my daughter wanted fruit loops from room service - I said it wasn't on the menu - her response "I know there are fruit loops somewhere on this ship!". She wrote it in and the next morning - there were fruit loops!

Menu is in the room, just call and order. The menu never changes and is cold items only, sandwhiches and stuff. There is a breakfast order door hanger you can also use to place an order the night before.

Customary tip is $1-$2 depending on the size of the order.

Will the dining room allow you to take your left overs and maybe an extra dessert to your room?
On our last cruise, I wanted to take some lasagna back to the room for a little later, I had thought about finishing it off while on our balcony. I asked the waiter, he in turn asked the maitre'd and came back with a no:( (He said that if it just sat out, it could go bad and they would not want me to be sick.) I was a little dis-appointed, but totally understood, they were looking out for me. At the same time I wondered, couldn't the same thing happen from someone taking food from the Lido back to their cabin? Anyway, it was probably a good thing though, I didn't get hungry the rest of the night. So in my experience with dinner, no, don't know about the dessert though.

Do you have a refrigerator in your cabin? I know we never bring anything extra and never saw anyone else do it. The buffet will still be open with unlimited desserts until quite late and you can order stuff from room service for free if you dont want to hit the buffet.

What ship are you sailing ;). We eat at the buffet for dinner and they only have a choice of two desserts. We find the dessert choices so much more plentiful at lunch time when more people choose the buffet. For dinner it is, frankly, slim pickin's.

You mean we can go to dinner, then go to the buffet, and then order room service? Woo Hoo! This is going to be a great trip.

:D You can shovel in the food 24 hrs. a day, if that's what you want.:D
