shortm Posted April 15, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2008 We have booked our first cruise on Royal Caribbean departing from Cape Liberty going to Bermuda and need to sort out hotel accomodation for one night before the cruise. We will be flying into either Newark or JFK and aren't sure whether to stay near the airport or if there are hotels near the port. Also, how long is it likely to take to get to the port from either airport and how much in a taxi ? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Guest maddycat Posted April 15, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2008 Fly into Newark if at all possible. There are many hotels/motels near the airport. Many have free shuttle service to the airport and Cape Liberty. Ask when you book. The port is close to the airport. However, the time for the drive depends on the traffic. If you're lucky enough to sail on a Saturday or a Sunday you should be able to get to the pier within a half hour. If you sail on a weekday traffic will be very heavy and will probably take quite a bit longer. A lot of truck traffic. You'll enjoy the Explorer of the Seas. It an excellent ship. shortm Posted April 15, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted April 15, 2008 Thanks for that. We're sailing on a Saturday so at least traffic shouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately we won't get a choice as to where we fly in to, I work for the airline so will be on a standby ticket so will take what we can get. Will have a look at those links now.
