weather in Sydney - November

We have jst booked on RCI cruise from Sydney 11/11/08 - what sort of weather can we expect? Also we intend to travel to Sydney 5 days early to enjoy the sights - hotel accommodation - any suggestions - we wouldlike something nice but not too costly - somewhere in a good location please.
