cruisebie Posted April 16, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 16, 2008 Sure thing! I don't know if there is a standard list somewhere, but here are the ones you mentioned{ DD = Dear (Darling) Daughter DH = Dear (Darling) Husband DS= Dear (Darling) Son and so on, just add the D in front of the letter abbreviation for any family member. PVP= Personal Vacation Planner. This is what Carnival calls the people who you call to book.

Welcome to Cruise Critic! :)
Carnival Game Posted April 16, 2008 #8 Share Posted April 16, 2008 I always thought it was odd that people would write: "DD ordered the fish" instead my "My daughter ordered the fish". Does it really save THAT much time? Especially when it's the son...only three more letters! :D
cathyoo Posted April 16, 2008 #9 Share Posted April 16, 2008 The D can be anything.. depending on how the poster is feeling. my DH is generally my Dear Husband, occasionally he is my Darling husband and sometimes he is my Dam@ husband.

snoodel Posted April 16, 2008 #17 Share Posted April 16, 2008 Gotta say , i love the reference to Happy Maddison.. I had a hard time too getting used to the speak here.. I was always used to my wife refering to me as a "DH" but it was always "why do you have to be such a DH".. And bless her heart,, never would she abreviate it either,, use the full phrase... But then,, I am a DH sometimes.. ok, most times,, It's a job I really enjoy.. LMAO<<<< Dave

RizzoLee Posted April 17, 2008 #21 Share Posted April 17, 2008 FI = fiance :) Won't often see that one, but some people refer to FI instead of fiance(e). Now, if you're on a cruise, and hear 'SOS', I suggest you get to your muster station.
