Just how much fuel does a cruise ship burn?

I wonder how much fuel burns while the ship is docked at a port -- the ship still has to generate electricity for air conditioning, lights, etc.

 

See post #71 for consumption figures for the Allure. You can assume they will be running one of the smaller generators, and hotel power for a ship that size is likely 10-12,000kw, so I would say an average for the mainline cruise line ships would be 50-70 metric tons/day, or 13-18,000 gallons/day.
