PurpleCow Posted April 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2008 According to the business section of this morning's Orlando Sentinel, fuel charges for Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Azamara Cruises will be going up from $5 per passenger per day to $8 per passenger per day and the cap of $70 per passenger per voyage will go up t0 $114. In addition 3rd, 4th and more passengers in a cabin will now be charged an additional $3 per day with a maximum of $42 per person. This means that a couple sailing on a 14 day cruise will now pay $228 in fuel surcharges instead of $114 and a family of 5 on a 14 day voyage will now pay $350 instead of $114. The higher charges will apply to cruises booked after May 1. That's Thursday, folks. So if you've been sitting on the fence about a booking, now would be the time to make up your mind it if you want to avoid these additional charges.
