cardamon Posted April 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2008 Need help before printing SeaPass: Which option is the best: A. I choose to pay my onboard charges in the currency of my card.I choose to use Royal Caribbean International's currency conversion program B. I choose to have my credit card issuer convert my onboard charges to the currency of my card in lieu of participating in the Royal Caribbean International currency conversion program.( Thanks! lovemylab Posted April 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2008 If you are from the US this doesn't apply to you since the onboard charges are in USD and your credit card would also be in the same currency.
Langley Cruisers Posted April 28, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 28, 2008 It doesn't seem to matter because every single time, RCI has converted it for us even though we chose the credit card issuer option. it's not so bad now that Canadian and US dollars are pretty much at par, but years ago, it was definitely not in our favor. Aloucha Posted April 28, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 28, 2008 We chose to have it charged in US and MasterCard did the conversion from US to Canadian. Difficult to evaluate what is better but I had heard on the forum that RRCL was more expensive. I figure that MasterCard must have a much higher volume then RRCL, so they must have better rates but I am only assuming... Have a nice cruise ! dirtgirl Posted April 29, 2008 #5 Share Posted April 29, 2008 You are American, so charge to the currency of your card. It's only us foreigners that have to worry about getting ripped off!
