WeRockChalkKU Posted October 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2004 What is the most economical transport option to and from LAX to the San Pedro pier? The cruiseline wants $50 per person. Thanks
minniegidget Posted October 13, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2004 when you find out let me know I am looking for the same info. From everything I have been reading supershuttle is going to be my best bet. I have 3 going in Feb. Looking to go from lax to San Pedro
WeRockChalkKU Posted October 14, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted October 14, 2004 It doesn't look like were going to get any help with this. I posted a week ago and you're the first reply. What cruise are you going on? We sail Feb 3rd on the Island Princess.
bigmike7 Posted October 14, 2004 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2004 Yo- Try posting this in the Princess Forum- Lots more folks participate in there and your answers will probably be better-IMO Happy Cruisin' Mike
minniegidget Posted October 14, 2004 #5 Share Posted October 14, 2004 I will be sailing Feb 7th on the Monarch. I have not found anything cheaper than 55.00 one way. On RCLthey say to try supershuttle. But I hate driving around the airport 2 or 3 times.
nealstuber Posted October 15, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 15, 2004 Enterprise has a rental return right across from the world cruise port, their best rate to rent at LAX and drop there is about $65 - since we're flying in the night before and have not decided on a hotel, this makes sense to us (there are other companies that are $10-$15 cheaper but their return is at least 4 miles away, closer to Long Beach). I'm hoping to pool 2 or 3 other couples to rent a limo with us for $150 for the return trip. We have about 3 hours to kill and were thinking a limo drive around Rodeo Drive and Hollywood would be fun. We're doing the NCL Star Mar 5-13. WeRockChalkKU Posted October 15, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted October 15, 2004 If I can read hubbies writing - I think he checked out http://www.karmel.com and got a price of 42.48 for LAX to pier for 2 and a return of 52.48 - the extra $10 is for "waiting time" I thought I read somewhere that a taxi is $40. Does anyone know if this is correct?
1cruiselvr Posted October 16, 2004 #8 Share Posted October 16, 2004 Yes taxi from LAX to San Pedro is approx $40. But it won't hold more than 2 people and their luggage. You will need to get a taxi van for more.
Abbidoo Posted October 21, 2004 #9 Share Posted October 21, 2004 We leave for LAX/San Pedro on 11/4 for 11/5 sailing of the Island Princess to & from Hawaii. Have arranged for Prime Time Shuttle to p/u at LAX & take us to Sheraton Hotel and then return to LAX from the ship on 11/20. Cost is $30.00 each way for 2 people. Phone # is 1-800-599-9990. SuperShuttle was a little higher. Hope this helps.
WeRockChalkKU Posted October 22, 2004 Author #10 Share Posted October 22, 2004 Thanks for the info. We go out on the Island in Feb. I hope you post a review when you get back. I'd hope you will. What all do you plan to do on in port? Will you take ship tours or go out on your own? I'd appreciate any info you can share.
