Interesting question! I was never a rum drinker. Didn't like the stuff. When we boarded Sovereign on April 28th, I told the person that I didn't want rum...they rummed it anyway. It was great! Thereafter, I took the rum. I think my favorite was the strawberry lava flow! The pina colada was great, also!

mmmmmmm RC ships make one of the best Pina Colada's I've ever had :D !! I've also heard talk of something called a mango tango...made with mango rum, wouldn't mind giving that one a try too next time

I love rum drinks, and the mojito is on of my favorites. The coco-locos at Coco Cay are great. They were, by far, the best drinks we had on our Cruise last week. Here's a link from the RCCL web site with the recipe:

Enjoy.:D:D

Hands down it's the Bahama Mama! Since our last cruise, I have been making them at home when I get in a "Caribbean" mood.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 fluid ounce rum
  • 1/2 fluid ounce coconut-flavored rum
  • 1/2 fluid ounce grenadine syrup
  • 1 fluid ounce orange juice
  • 1 fluid ounce pineapple juice
  • 1 cup crushed ice

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine regular rum, rum with coconut flavoring, grenadine, orange juice, pineapple juice and crushed ice in an electric blender. Blend until the drink's consistency is slushy.

The Painkillers.........as made at any Pussers Restaurant.........well.....let's just say that two kills the pain.....and you need to remember that you still have to walk back to the ship. Pussers also has many other wonderful rum drinks and specialty concoctions.

One of my most favorites on RCCL.........Monarch, Jewel and Navigator...is the mojito. With properly muddled spearment.........it gets my vote!!

I vote for the Coco-loco....was it really the drink, or the drink brought to my beach chair in LaBadee?? Both:D

We have tried to re-create them at home and come to the determination that drinks taste better in the caribbean.
