Cabs for 6 people plus luggage?

We will be sailing out of OSJ next May. There will be 4 adults going together from the airport to the hotel and then 6 adults from the hotel (most likely the Clarion Le Consulat near Condado Beach) to the pier (Pier 4 in OSJ). What is the best way to reserve a cab? Do we simply hail a cab at the airport and then have the hotel call for one the next day? Is it possible to get a van to pick up the 6 of us on the way to the pier or should we just split up? I am looking for the most economical way to get us there with as little hassle as possible. Taxis will be waiting at the airport and you should not have a problem at the hotel. If taxis don't seem to be waiting at the hotel, just get them to call one and ask for a van taxi (that should take 6).

 

Cost of taxi travel in the so called tourist zones are fixed based on start and ending zone.

Check this site for prices (but add $1.50 to each rate and $1 per bag instaed of 50cents) rates have just increased due to the cost of gas

4 of us plus 4 bags from airport to Le Consulat was $22; 6 of us plus 6 bags from Le Consulat to Pier 4 was $30. 8 of us plus 7 bags from Intercontinental of airport was $22.

 

The standard taxi rate is based on 4 passengers plus. Over 4 will be based on person, but it comes out the same.

can the taxis from the airport fit 4 or 5 people with 6 bags in 1 cab??

when you exit the airport you will see a taxi stand - just tell them the destination + how many people and you will be given a ticket with the price.
