New Orleans hotels

We are going to be in New Orleans in very early January. We have been there before so we kind of know of the layout of some of the land. We won't need parking. Does anyone know of any inexpensive hotels close to the terminal around that time?

If you are going to be in town before Jan. 3, you will probably find hotel rooms pretty tight due to the Sugar Bowl. After that it shouldn't be a problem. There are numerous moderately-priced chains -Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, etc. that have properties in the downtown area near the cruise terminal. You can also check Priceline or Hotwire for some good deals.

Good luck and have fun.

Well our cruise leaves January 4th. Oh boy.

wow, I would recommend you try Price Line or, we used a company called "bookit.com. We are staying at a BandBfor under $100 a night during the Bayou Classic. That isn't as big as the Sugar Bowl but does demand top $$. It is also Thanksgiving weekend.
