rey68 Posted October 15, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2004 I just booked my first cruise ever last week on the Caribbean Princess for January 22/05. I was given room C429. I heard alot of good things about the caribe deck and this was midship. I just got a call today from my TA and said Princess had upgraded us to lido deck room L223. This is more forward and a higher deck but is it a good move? Should I stay where I was. I realize midship by the main elevators may be noisy. If they have bumped me already can I expect another one? Any help would be great!
prophotogirl Posted October 15, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2004 I just took a look at the deck plans. I would ask to stay in the Caribe deck. Sure the Lido is really close and has quick access to the pool area but I was on the Caribe deck last month and liked the ease of not having to go all the way up or down to go some where. Right in the middle is great.
GloriaF Posted October 15, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2004 I wold prefer the Caribe deck. Interiors of all balcony rooms are the same BF thru BA, so the difference is the size of the balcony with Caribe and the location. I would prefer the half open/half covered larger balcony on Caribe. Lido will have all covered balcony 1/2 the size of Caribe.
Julia & David Posted October 15, 2004 #4 Share Posted October 15, 2004 We were on the Aloha deck on the Caribbean Princess in July. We were midship right by the elevators. We did not hear any noise at all. Hope this helps.
Druke I Posted October 15, 2004 #5 Share Posted October 15, 2004 Another who would opt for the Caribe deck location. I think it handier to get to the dining rooms and to the Horizon Court (not as far a walk). I personally favor mid-ship location to a forward. rey68 Posted October 15, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted October 15, 2004 anyone else....it appears I should ask to stay where I am? and if so is this OK or has Princess bumped me.
prophotogirl Posted October 15, 2004 #7 Share Posted October 15, 2004 Call your TA and have them call Princess back - upgrades can be refused. You only have a limited time (like 36 hours) to respond so call now if you want to stay on the Caribe deck.
VACATION IS MY LIFE Posted March 7, 2005 #8 Share Posted March 7, 2005 Hey Rey68, I have been booked on L223 on the Caribean Princess in April 05, did you end up staying in L223? If so what was the room/balcony like? Any info on this room would be great. Thanks
Rare Coral Posted March 7, 2005 #9 Share Posted March 7, 2005 I also would take the Caribe balcony - it is larger.

And you are better off more midship.
cruisingfreak Posted March 7, 2005 #11 Share Posted March 7, 2005 I would ask to get my cabin on the Caribe Deck back. Larger balconies & that cabin is more mid ship. Minette
Crazsea Posted March 7, 2005 #12 Share Posted March 7, 2005 Hi All, Other than "VACATION IS MY LIFE" please note the original date of this post. The OP has already taken this cruise. Wonder what they ended up doing?:)
