Bases5 Posted July 31, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 31, 2008 I was wondering what rules Carnival follows on basic Blackjack. Hit or stay on soft 17? Can you double down on anything or just 9-10 and 11? can you surrender ? Can you split and double? Many thanks in advance.
ellenvana Posted July 31, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 31, 2008 Carnival's blackjack is your usual blackjack... Of course like in any casino some of the games are a little different,, but they are stated at the tables.. Good Luck! :)

kjunea Posted July 31, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 31, 2008 They were also running a table of blackjack where the dealers cards are face-up on our recent Fantasy cruise. DH said it was 6-5 for a blackjack and the other rules were just as bad, but people were playing it right and left. I don't play blackjack, but just thought it was interesting that they offered that option.

All the cards are right in from of you.
Rare finoky Posted July 31, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 31, 2008 I have only seen them hit on soft 17 at the Fun 21 table. Here is a link to the rules on Oceanplayersclub's website. http://www.oceanplayersclub.com/AboutTheClub/CasinoGames.aspx
Bases5 Posted August 1, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted August 1, 2008 The big house advantage is hitting on soft 17 and all the queens are missing. 8 decks. that's 32 less face cards, Easier for the dealer to get low number runs without busting,
Rare finoky Posted August 1, 2008 #8 Share Posted August 1, 2008 Bases5, Tom just confirmed on another thread that the dealers now hit on soft 17 at the regular blackjack table.
DMdoogie Posted August 1, 2008 #9 Share Posted August 1, 2008 Does Carnival (Destiny) give double free odds on the Craps pass line? It makes the difference between a house advantage or a player advantage. Celibrity gives double odds, RCL gives single odds. I'll roll or not roll depending on the odds. Robert6260 Posted August 2, 2008 #10 Share Posted August 2, 2008 Regular blackjack on Carnival ships is identical to Vegas. They use six decks, players cards are up and dealers first card is down and second up. If the delaer has an ace up and you have a blackjack you can take even money.
