I was wondering what rules Carnival follows on basic Blackjack.

 

Hit or stay on soft 17?

Can you double down on anything or just 9-10 and 11?

can you surrender ?

Can you split and double?

Carnival's blackjack is your usual blackjack... Of course like in any casino some of the games are a little different,, but they are stated at the tables.. Good Luck! :)

They were also running a table of blackjack where the dealers cards are face-up on our recent Fantasy cruise. DH said it was 6-5 for a blackjack and the other rules were just as bad, but people were playing it right and left. I don't play blackjack, but just thought it was interesting that they offered that option.

Face up has a huge house advantage...BUT..I you dont need any knowledge of the game to play. All the cards are right in from of you.

The big house advantage is hitting on soft 17 and all the queens are missing. 8 decks. that's 32 less face cards, Easier for the dealer to get low number runs without busting,

Does Carnival (Destiny) give double free odds on the Craps pass line? It makes the difference between a house advantage or a player advantage. Celibrity gives double odds, RCL gives single odds. I'll roll or not roll depending on the odds.

Regular blackjack on Carnival ships is identical to Vegas. They use six decks, players cards are up and dealers first card is down and second up. If the delaer has an ace up and you have a blackjack you can take even money.
