SabrinaNP Posted August 2, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2008 We are leaving for an Alaskan cruisetour with Princess this month. We just got word we will be staying at the Bear Lodge in Fairbanks for two nights. Has anyone ever heard of the Bear Lodge? Do you recommend we change to a different hotel? I would appreciate all opinions.
Rejeana Posted August 2, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 2, 2008 Hey Sabrina, how long did it take you to get your Fairbanks lodging assignment? We are leaving in less than 3 wks and still don't know where we'll be staying.

I would appreciate all opinions. We stayed at the Bear Lodge and found it quite nice. There is an Italian eating place right behind it on the main road within walking distance that had terrific food. The name is Gambardella's. At the lodge they have the Golden Bear Restaurant and the Gazebo Café. The Golden Bear, located in Bear Lodge, features some of the best seafood and steaks in Fairbanks, although a little pricey. Next door, in the Wedgewood Visitor Center, you will find the Gazebo Café, serves lighter fare primarily sandwiches salads and soups, spectacular patio and GREAT burgers! You can also grab a quick bite in the Bear's Tale Lounge open daily 12-12pm, features an assortment of appetizers as well as burgers and sandwiches or the Bear Essentials Internet Cafe & Gift Shop. Breakfast buffet @ $15 each; entrees around $20 for other meals. The Gazebo was open for breakfast but when we were there in June it did not open(during the week) for lunch or dinner.
