St. Thomas taxi prices

I understand that the taxis close to the ships are more expensive than others. Where do you find the other, less expensive taxis? do you need to go downtown?

where do you want to go.. if you want to go to coki there is a 2 dollar bus i think you would catch it at the wendys. we caught it on the way back from coki ... it was nice got to see the whole island that way....

The official taxis have set fares. So where you start doesn't make much difference; however, where you are going does. If you dock at Havensight and want to go to Red Hook to catch the St John ferry, it's cheaper than taking a taxi from Crown Bay. If you have to pass through downtown, it is generally more expensive because it is so crowded.
