Price Drop

I noticed today that my cruise price went down $100. I called my travel agent to get an OBC carnival said they could downgrade me from a 4E to 4A cabin and gave me a $60 obc. I said never mind.

Wow, that wasn't my understanding of their policies/procedures. Interesting. Sorry you didn't get the $100.

You need to call back and talk to someone else. I just received a 120.00 obc because of a price drop.

My travel agent called carnival twice!

Sounds to me like you got a free upgrade to a 4E and you checked the price of a 4A, not the new cabin 4E price?

doesnt sound like the price of the 4E went down $100.

so would i be able to get the 45 obc for the price differance before the fuel charge or because its still higher with the fuel i am out of luck?

You could only get the OBC if you were willing to pay the higher fuel surcharge, i.e. Id keep what you got since its a cheaper rate. A few PVPs have been known to give it, but most charge the higher fuel surcharge. At first I think PVPs were confused, but the policy is now more set.

mij - You must have a 4A GUARANTEE - the situation is a bit different for the Guarantee's. ken

Or they got a free past guest upgrade could be how she is in a higher category than she originally paid for. Either way, OP needs to check the price of the new category, not what she originally paid for.
