Just For This Cruise, I Will Not.....

Recommended Posts

worry that others in the dining room are not dressed as formally as I think they should be...

concern myself with chair hogs who drop a towel and a worn out paperback on a deck chair to hold it for three hours...

fret because it seems like everything is "extra" once you step on-board...

complain that the cabin is too hot/cold and the thermostat isn't really connected to anything...

report unruly children are running wild on the ship and down the passageways at 2 am...

be curt every time the ship photographers interrupt my dinner to snap a photo I'll never buy...

complain about fuel surcharges in the face of plummeting oil prices...

cough cough cough when someone's cigarette smoke drifts my way...

cast dirty looks at clueless people who drag their deck chairs onto the jogging track...

complain that the bingo and art auction announcements are loud enough to be heard on the freighter behind us, but I can't hear the Captain's noontime navigational and weather announcement...

get cranky everytime the art auction takes over the atrium...

gripe to the wine steward that his $30.00 bottle of wine is only $6.00 at home...

And most of all I will not forget that I can do little to change any of these things and that my negativity will disrupt the flow of positive energy that I can receive from just being on the ship at sea.

Instead, for just this cruise I will continually remind myself that a bad day on a cruise vacation is still better than a good day at work, and that I am lucky to have the health and resources that allow me to cruise whenever and wherever I want.

Maybe not only just for this cruise, but the next and the next and the next as well.....

Peace be with you!

...I have to relate a past incident!

On the old Norwegian Sky...They had a great cigar bar, aft, with a wall of glass overlooking the water.

Around midnight a group of teenagers kept running by banging the glass.

It had been raining.

On the third pass, a rather large, portly teen came running by, smacking the glass...and proceeded to misstep and slide the length of the wall on the slick deck.

The cheers and laughter were spontanious, long and loud.

They stopped running by.

Great list. I have not had issues with all of them, but I understand what you mean.

Love the story about the teens :D

Yep, gas prices are still high here. Got to look at what they are now and what they were almost 1 year ago when they began. Plus, we have no idea how much the cruise industry has to pay for their futures compared to a year ago.

I don't mind the photographers - they are here and gone pretty quickly. We did have a problem last cruise - we were late to the Captain's reception and had to practically beg them to let us do the receiving line. We looked and looked for the photos - found out the lost most of the Captain's reception photos - the only ones we buy!!!

I have yet to attend an art auction, I buy bingo once per cruise (I spend more in the casino and have won much less).

I will have to think what I won't let bother me. My problem is - once I step on board the ship - I'm good to go. Nothing is an issue, expect them making me go home at the end of the cruise. :(

Just paid $3.47 this morning at a local WaWA.

Pat

What really snaps my garters - we're supposed to close to the lowest gas taxes in the nation, our neighbor to the north has a higher gas tax, but where I live gas is higher than in NC. Boy do they love to stick it to tourist areas, even though not everyone here is a tourist.

We are totally off topic now, lol, but I find Shell gives me the most out of my engine. And oh do I love the power. lol.

i belong to three different forum boards about Cobras and all have suggested Shell as a top brand for that get up & go feeling!

Right now I am pushing 426RWHP but am planning on a new exhaust and shorter pulley for christmas...hoping to get close to 475-500 range

love my terminator!

now ...back on topic....

I will not hijack any more threads and will try to be more polite in my postings so santa will bring me kewl things for my stocking this year instead of the usual lump of coal!

I will remember that crew members are far away from their homes & their families, and that they work hard 24/7 for months on end, so that my family can have a wonderful, relaxing cruise ... so I will always be pleasant to them and say THANK YOU by word and by tip.

AT LEAST ONE MORE TIME!

ALXRU12. About two years ago, working a trade show. Gentleman comes by, we start talking about what he does for a living. Seems he is a Senior Vp of a company that sell additives to the major oil companies.

I asked, "without prejudice, which brand of gasoline offers the purest mixture for long engine life and maximum horsepower."

He said Shell. When we took delivery of our Shelby GT500 last year, nothing but Shell 93 octane goes in it.
