Any more info on Stockholders perks being extended?

I am booking a cruise on the Summit for next April and was wondering if the RCCL stockholders perks have been exteneded? I have been trying to do a search here and nothing works. Grrr...

There was a long thread on this around 3/30, but I cannot locate it.

Yes, it has been extended. I had emailed them because the web page is still showing the old form. They confirmed it's extended and ok to use the old form until the new one is posted.

Yes you can own the stock in an IRA or any other account. Just make a copy of the statement. I copied an online statement and sent it in.

You'll get $50 onboard credit for up to 6 day cruises, $100 for 7-8 day cruises, and so on.

We don't own any shares right now, but I'd consider looking into it. How has it performed? If we do buy some, how do you go about getting the credit? Is the form on the website? Does it have to be done when you book or can you do it after? We're booked for May 31.

Thanks.

M&L:

The stock has done very well, but it's quite high now. That doesn't mean that it isn't still a good investment, but 100 shares will cost you almost $4500 right now. They pay a small dividend ($52 for a year on 100 shs), but you probably won't see much appreciation on the stock price itself.

On the other hand, if you have $4500 just sitting around twiddling its thumbs, and you cruise often, you can think of the onboard credits as "additional dividends" when you are figuring out the value of the investment.

JMHO, as always.

Yes, you do need to own 100 shares to qualify. As for the performance of the stock - not bad. But I have only had mine for a few weeks and was fortunate to catch a dip when I purchased and have about a 10% profit on the purchase. Not bad for a few weeks!! As for getting the credit, you'll have to fill out the RCCL form and send it in with a copy of your brokerage statement showing the ownership of the required number of stocks. I would expect that this would need to be done while booking or after booking a cabin. This is what RCI told me when I called them for clafification. I hope this helps.

Dearest Catnip,

Having once owned shares of many companies, I'm very interested in the "perks" one gets owning cruise corporation shares. Since now I must live within the confines of my trust fund, any freebies are truly appreciated. I've been up all night recouping from the nasty flaming I recieved asking about the lux type service aboard RCCL ships. Alas, some people lack theology and geometry. Though fortuna has spun my luck wheel downward...one day I shall redeem myself. Cads!!

warmest regards

Thanks, Seabreeze. I thought you sent it to your TA. Should I send her a copy, or just to RCCL?

Thanks for the help!

Upscale,

Alas, we all must do what we can to not squander the family fortune. icon_rolleyes.gif

And I must say, old chap, that you did cause quite a stir with your other thread. Hope you had on your flame retardant suit! Indeed, I was getting a little warm all the way down here in NC when I read the responses!! icon_eek.gif

We used the $100.00 credit on our Voyager cruise, last November. They are not too knowledgeable about the credit at the purser's office. I started checking on whether we had received the credit by talking with the purser's staff on Tuesday. They had no record of it and had to actually call the corporate offices to ascertain whether we were entitled. They finally got it straight by Friday. It took several discussions with the purser staff to get it.

BTW, I had received an E-mail from Investor Relations telling me that we would receive the credit on that cruise.

It is a good benefit, as well as the fact that the stock is up about $15.00 a share from what I paid for it.

Does anyone know if, once you send in the shareholder form, if RC notifies you that indeed you will receive the onboard credit?

I sent in my form with a brokerage statement, but have not been notified by anyone. I did, however, inquire thru my TA who, after some research, found that I have the credit.

They don,t send anything to you, but youcan do like you said and get your TA to track it down. Just to make sure, take a copy of the form and the stock info with you on the cruise to show the Loyalty Ambassador to get the credit if something fell through the cracks.

We have never been notified that it was there but it has always been there. Probably no need to worry unless you sent it in close to departure time--in which case you should probably only need a copy of what you sent to take with you.
