swim with dolphins question

Has anyone ever booked a swim with the dolphins excursion with someone other than their cruise line? I am looking for ideas for Zihuataneojo/Ixtapa

Booking on your own is always an option...we have had tons of success with both the ships...and on our own. We have booked through Dolphin Discovery in Cozumel...but I don't know if they have anything in Ixtapa...(if anybody in Mexico does...they probably do, though.)

Whatever you decide, booking on your own or thru the cruise line, you will totally enjoy it! We booked thru Carnival, paid more I am sure, but the cost was worth it! They are beautiful creatures and DH and myself will never forget our experience. I am jealous of you doing this type of excursion. I would do it again in a heart- beat and whatever cost!

I have done both as the above poster indicated and no problems with either. This year I booked direct with Dolphin Discovery in Cozumel, direct with Atlantis in Cayman's and with the cruise line in Jamacia. You did not indicate if this is your first cruise or not. On my first cruise I booked everything with the cruise line not knowing what to expect and for added peace of mind.
