Breezey Posted October 29, 2008 Author #51 Share Posted October 29, 2008 Well thanks to all your recommendations, we booked the following: Ketchikan - Island Wings Juneau - Harv and Marv's Skagway - reservation request in for Chilkoot Tours - 3 1/2 hour only as my DH said no way to the 7 hour tour (although I really wanted to see the Yukon being a Canuk myself) So Stitka and Icy Strait point are left. After 3 consecutive days of tours, maybe we should just wander around on our own and then sit on our balcony and ooh and awe? We dont need to do a 2nd whale watching tour but definitely are not the shopping at the port people either. Any other ideas?
plenox Posted December 10, 2008 #52 Share Posted December 10, 2008 it is always nice to walk about the dock area in Juneau. There are many bald eagles, many more than I could have seen in my local zoo. If scenic viewing and wildlife is priority, make sure you bring binoculars. 10x for long distance and 8x for wide angle. gertz Posted December 10, 2008 #53 Share Posted December 10, 2008 Yeah, those beers are sneaky and hard to find ;) Sorry, couldn't resist! This truly was funny. No disrespect spell check won't catch beer. Seriously to op what you do and don't do the first trip will determine what you do the 2nd and 3rd. Glacier bay, College Fjords, Kenai Fjords, and on and on. I think you could go to Alaska 10 times and still want to see more. Have a great time. We love Alaska.
