Hotel in Boston with a van to the port?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone stayed at a hotel that has a van to the port and a shuttle bus from the airport in Boston? What are our choices?

We want to do air on our own and arrive the day before the ship sails. We can buy transfers if there aren't any hotels in the area providing shuttle vans to the port.

What is the cost of a taxi to the airport from a medium priced hotel? Taking a taxi in Vancouver, worked out nicely for us.

In Miami and in Fort Lauderdale, we used the shuttle service. Both times we stayed at a Comfort Inn. What is the fee for using the hotel van to get to the port in Boston?

Thanks for your help.

You can stay at the Hilton Hotel at Logan which is connected to the airport terminal. Can walk there and never go outside!

Thanks Diane. I'll try the Hilton.

Does anyone else have some suggestions?

Much to my dismay, Boston is not a big cruise port. There is only one ship (NCL Majesty) that sails consistently in the summer. It is a small ship that leaves just once a week. I think it serves mainly a New England passenger base, so I believe there is little demand for shuttles from area hotels to the port.

The only hotel that is close to the Black Falcon terminal, is the Seaport, but you can't walk to the terminal from there and it's not convenient to the sites downtown.

Being local, I've not had much reason to spend a night in a Boston hotel, but for convenience to area attractions, I would recommend the Marriott near Quincy Market or one of the hotels at the Prudential Center. There's plenty to see within walking distance of both locations.

I have only taken a cab from South Station to the airport (a 10 minute ride) and it cost about $17, but much of that could be attributed to the toll for the airport tunnel.

Good Luck!
