Is there a cigar lounge on the jewel. Enjoyed the cigar lounge on the Dawn on two previous cruises.:cool: Please if you do not have any information to give please do not give your unwanted negative views on cigar smoking.

It is on deck six, across from Le Bistro.

The Cigar Bar is still there but it is now non-smoking (I think all public areas except the Casino are non-smoking).

 

Expect that it will find another purpose soon....

What about smoking, drinking and gambling on the ship?

 

We want you to be comfortable on board, so public areas throughout all NCL ships are smoke free. If you smoke cigarettes, you can do so in your stateroom, on your balcony, in the casino or Cigar Bar (where available). If you prefer pipes or cigars, you can smoke in the Cigar Bar or designated smoking lounge. Also, you can smoke cigarettes, pipes and cigars outside on open decks (just not around food venues, sport decks, kids' pool areas and other designated non-smoking areas).

It is hard to tell is whether 'Cigar Bar (where available)' is still available. It isn't listed anymore as a specific bar on the web site - but I don't know if it ever was. There isn't any signage but I can't recall if there was any beforehand.

 

It isn't staffed and just has a few chairs in there now but it looks like it isn't in use. There are some glass cases with Cigars in there but no obvious way to buy them (doubt NCL would miss the chance to sell anything).

 

There a photo on the NCL deck plans but it isn't laid out like that anymore. I was chatting to Dallas (asst Hotel Director) asking what it would become. He didn't correct me so I am reading between the lines a little. I remember seeing people in there last time on the Jewel so it seemed like a change.

 

I don't smoke so I wasn't asking to use the facility, Maybe another smoker will have asked....

What is really funny about the NCL site, is it says No Smoking in Public areas and then to contradicts itself as saying you can smoke in the Casino, I guess they don't consider the Casino as a public area :rolleyes:

The cigar lounge on the Pearl this past March was open and in use . It was never staffed , there were a few chairs and cigars in the case but no one to sell them..

The reason that the Jewel's cigar bar is non-smoking is because it does not have door to close in the smoke. But, they do have "Cigars Under the Stars" up at the Sky High Bar in the evenings.
