Is Cruising for me?

I'm looking for an opinion here (I picked this forum as I'm single and would be traveling solo). I'm looking at Cruises in the Caribbean but I've never been on a cruise before, so I don't know what to expect or what I should be looking for as a single guy.

Initially I was looking at Traveling for about week in late November/early December time-frame (I'm hoping hurricane season will be over). I want to island hop, I like to do Snorkeling and Swimming, but I'm also a serious photographer.

I would prefer to have activities pre-planned and something to cater more to singles then people with families. But I don't know what Cruises offer etc.

I'm doing a lot of research to answer I lot of my questions but if you guy/gals wanted to point me in the right direction as to what kind of questions should I be asking and what I need to know about cruising life.
