When on Connie in Spring, John Grantham had just joined Celebrity for first stint as CD. We thought he was excellent. Was ex Hollywood stuntman and gave lectures, about movies tv work that he had been in. Superb!

Anyone know if he is still with X.

JohnC

He's on the Galaxy right now and replaced Stewart Turnbull.

Captain Pagonis is home on holidays. He will be heading for Constellation at the end of November.

That's great news ! Captain Mantzavinos told me that Cpt. Pagonis actually lives in Belgium when he's not on a ship. End of December we'll be on the Constellation, so I'm really looking forward to meet him.

Amazing how many changes have taken place.

Luke Bonney I believe has been a cruise director in the past?????

Emma Quezon, the publisher, has been a Captain's Club Hostess.

And the staff Captain was listed as an alternate master on Century??

How did you like the cruise?

I would like to get in touch with John Howell, who I believe from what people have written here, is on the Summitt as the Cruise Director. Anyone know his email address? Thanks

I'm pretty sure the CD would not want to give his eMail contact on board to many people. He would be inundated with contacts. If you have ever emailed any cruise director on board you might be able to figure out his address. Have you tried Celebrity or the Captain's Club?

Amazing how many changes have taken place.

Indeed, we were also on the Galaxy in August and when we came onboard on 24 October, we were surprised to see so many new faces. Even the Captain changed, although in August Captain Karamaounas told us during dinner that we would see him again in October. Apparently sometimes the changes are unexpected. We were also invited by Captain Mantzavinos at his table and we had a nice and relaxed conversation with him. A very warm personality and a true gentleman.

How did you like the cruise?

We had an absolutely wonderful cruise and we felt a bit sad when we had to go home, since this was our 8th and last cruise on the Galaxy. It was our first cruise ship ever and we have such good memories about it.

And on a gossipy note...does anyone know what happened to captain petrikis after incident in alaska?

By the way your picture of staff is great and reminded of several staff members who have added joy to our lives upon the seas!!!

it's been a while since this chart was updated. If anyone is back from a recent sailing, please post any news of transfers, additions and skuttlebutt about your favorite ship and staff assignments.

...does anyone know what happened to

Anastasios Salesiotis:

Man that was one wonderful captain. He would stand in line at the buffet with the passengers everyday and give you a big hug if you had sailed with him before. I have heard that his wife was ill and he retired.

Well, of course, Anastasios would hug all the women in sight every chance he got. He hugged my wife several times during one of the cruises and would say to me every time, "...don't get jealous"!

So, at the last formal night, I greeted the Captain by hugging him and then I looked at his fellow officers standing behind him and said, "....don't get jealous!"

He laughed with his whole body and took remark with great warmth and joy...cool guy!!!

This is a great schedule. Does anyone know if this "Who's On Board" exists for RCCL

Hi,:) this schedule was all set up by Arno, who is a wonderful

contributor and member of this site.

As for RCCL, you might check over there and see if someone

has the time, patience and inclination to set one up.

Hi there!

What's the nationality of the navigation officers? Are they only Greek?

Also, what is the system rotation (3months on/3 months off)?

Celebrity had its origins from the Chandris line, a Greek company. Celebrity continues to use primarily Greek bridge officers but Azamara has diversified a bit. Captains are on a three month rotation. I'm not sure what it is for other positions.

Mostly Greek. Rotation varies per rank. The Master is 3 months on, 3 months off. The Hotel Director is 6 months on, 2 months off, etc.

Can anyone confirm that Dru Pavlov will be heading to the Solstice in January? We enjoyed him on the Constellation a few years ago; my wife thought he was "cute";) Yes, we know he and Melanie got married.

Also, when I spoke to an old friend from the Constellation, Century and, most recently the Azamara Quest, Dominique, he indicated he was going to the Solstice to be the Specialty Restaurant Manager. However, I haven't heard anything about him on any reviews, etc. Can anyone confirm he is there? A true gentleman who always recognizes passengers.

Hi Louis, he was on board for the Naming Ceremony last month.

Maybe someone who has sailed more recently can tell you if he

is still there.

Merry Christmas to you and Margo:)

Dominique, he indicated he was going to the Solstice to be the Specialty Restaurant Manager.

I believe that:

Simon Weir will be staying on board till the end of March

I had also previously heard that Dru was going to Solstice so he must have a new assignment coming up???

Dominique was still on board as the overall Specialty Restaurants supervisor.

Dru would be replacing Nick Weir, who is the current Cruise Director on the Solstice. Simon, Hotel Director, is staying on until March. He then gets a 3 mo vacation before moving on to the Equinox to take her out.
