ohiochic Posted October 31, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2008 MotionEaze for sea sickness? We wear the wristbands but I found this stuff at Walmart today. You put a drop behind the ear lobe. Just wondering if it really works.
Luluwa Posted October 31, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 31, 2008 :p I really works, I use it every cruise and have rubbed it on friends and family. Deal or Dud? Deal.
cuyahoga11 Posted October 31, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 31, 2008 Yes it really works. I even use it at home when I am nauseated,
Thirsty Cruiser Posted October 31, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 31, 2008 Like sea bands, in controlled studies MotionEaze has not been shown to control motion sickness with any reliability. 1000 mg doses of ginger have been somewhat successful in double-blind studies, and bonine and scopolamine have been proven to work. Success with MotionEaze is likely more attributable to the placebo effect than actual efficacy. If you are susceptible to motion sickness, I would try it out on a ferry ride first, or else have bonine as a backup, rather than risk ruining a vacation due to motion sickness. ohiochic Posted October 31, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted October 31, 2008 Thanks. I'll take it with me just in case. . .hopefully we won't need it since we'll wear the wristbands but it's good to know that it has worked for others.
momofzeke Posted October 31, 2008 #6 Share Posted October 31, 2008 It works for me. Maybe it's just a placebo effect, but whatever the reason......I'm sold! I use it all the time when I fly and have used it on cruises also. The nice thing about it is that it is a tiny little bottle....doesn't take up much room, and it's inexpensive.....can't hurt to try it. :)
