Tipping at Nachi Cocum

We will be at Nachi Cocum in Dec. for the first time. We have confirmied reservations but I was wondering how you tip for service. Per drink or some at the beginning and more at the end? How much?

We had the same server for the whole day and we tipped at the end - when he was getting a cab for us. Tip according to how much service you received. We were pretty low maintenance - just lunch and a couple of drinks.

Couple questions about tipping at Nachi. Good tip for 2 people seems to be around $20 for our server for the day. However, I wasn't sure about the other things. We also would like to do the boating snorkeling tour, do we tip the guide for this also? If so, around how much? What about if we do massages? If so, about how much for the 1/2 hr massage? How about the taxi cab driver? I have heard it is a flat rate of $15 each way? Do you tip on top of this, and if so again how much? Just trying to figure out our budget and how expensive this day will be, thanks!

There were 6 of us there last month and I tipped $40 to our server. He was very fast with food and drinks. I tipped the guy at the swim up bar $5 also. He was good at mixing up different drinks for us to try.

I just made a reservation for Feb. Can someone comment on tipping the cab driver? Did you tip them and I'm assuming they take US currency?

yes, they take dollars...yes, we did tip. our driver was very informative and friendly.

When in doubt, I tip about 10% for taxi drivers, excursion peeps, massages, etc and standard 15 for wait staff. Just make sure your gratuity isn't already added to the bill...I've heard people on this board say that you're not sposed to tip taxi drivers as they would be insulted but I always tip and they always look pretty happy to me.:D
