afilbrun Posted November 18, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2008 I'm thinking of doing a cruise over my spring break in late march. Does anyone think that the prices will come down like they are for december and january of this year? We just booked a dec. cruise for an awesome price and are thinking of doing another soon...any thoughts on waiting to book? :)
annabell08 Posted November 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2008 I booked the Facination for 4/4/09 in July and the price has increased $80pp since then.
GoinCruisin Posted November 18, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 18, 2008 More than likely they will just keep going up... holiday sailings, and sailings when kids are out of school, sell pretty well and generally just keep going up. Had you booked in advance, the prices may have been lower... but I really wouldn't take a chance at this point... December and January are off season, spring break is high season. cathalane Posted November 18, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 18, 2008 I always think its better to book now... If prices go down before final payment, you can have your price lowered and if they go down after final payment, you can usually get an upgrade or OBC. If you wait, prices can go up and you have no protection against that. Good luck and happy cruising.
sappygirl Posted November 18, 2008 #5 Share Posted November 18, 2008 A cruise usually runs more when kids are out of school. (spring break, summer, holidays) Families tend to cruise more at those times because of that. I found a really good rate for Feb. cruise. I booked it in Oct. and the price has been going up since then. You can always wait and book in Hurricane season.;)
*Sparkle* Posted November 18, 2008 #6 Share Posted November 18, 2008 If prices go down you can get an adjustment. Its better to lock in a reasonable price now. Better safe than sorry.

firefly333 Posted November 18, 2008 #8 Share Posted November 18, 2008 If you are flexible about dates, wouldnt hurt to wait and jump on the best priced date. If you have to have a specific date, you can probably get any price drops anyway, so it wouldnt pay to wait to book.
afilbrun Posted November 18, 2008 Author #9 Share Posted November 18, 2008 Okay, well that's what I figured. We are doing an 8 day Dec. 09 so if we don't get to go in March it's not a huge deal. Unfortunately, I'm a student (who graduates in June-hallelujah!) so I have to deal with the whole "school season thing". Thanks for the thoughts and opinions! Rare Tapi Posted November 18, 2008 #10 Share Posted November 18, 2008 I'm thinking of doing a cruise over my spring break in late march. Does anyone think that the prices will come down like they are for december and january of this year? We just booked a dec. cruise for an awesome price and are thinking of doing another soon...any thoughts on waiting to book? :) Absolutely! You should wait, but only if you don't mind paying more for your Spring Break cruise later on or not going at all. Contrary to early december and January, Spring Break is a PEAK time, which means that prices WILL go up as we get closer to departure. If for some reason prices do go down, you can always get a price adjustment or OBC. Don't wait. If you're definitely planning on cruising for Spring Break, book now
