My husband is wanting to scuba dive( he is certified), during our time in Carins, has anyone done this and might have any information on it  Any particular dive center that is better or the best that he might contact? We will be there 2 days of our Outback tour, in early Feb. 2005. Thanks in advance. :p

My husband usually dives the reef from Port Douglas (about 2 hours drive nother of Cairns), however, perhaps they have the same dive operators.

The biggest one in the Port Douglas area ia Quick Silver. They are very good.

My husband also likes Haba Dive - smaller groups, more advanced divers.

Hope this helps,
JAne

I think Quicksilver do leave from Cairns but go up to Port
Douglas to do a pick up there before heading out for the day- which adds an hours travel to each end of your day. If you didn't want to do that I am sure there are some operators who go directly from Cairns but I couldn't tell you who I'm sorry. Sue
